ABC

The next couple to go home in season 24, falling just short of the finals, is Simone Biles and Sasha Farber. David Ross and Lindsay Arnold were also in jeopardy.

Tonight, the couple has an all-around perfect evening for the semifinals, earning a perfect 40 in both rounds. They danced a sparkling jive in the first round for the Judges’ Challenge after being paired up with Carrie Ann Inaba, who encouraged Simone to dance more freely. In the second round, the couple danced an inspirational rumba to “Skyscraper,” which was influenced by her Olympic journey.

Their very first score was a 32 out of 40, the highest-scoring dance of the premiere. Their average score throughout the competition was 36 points.

According to ABC, Biles, 19, “is already considered one of the best and most decorated gymnasts in the history of the sport. She was adopted by her grandparents at a young age, and they have been a major influence in her life, introducing her to the sport of gymnastics. She was always jumping around at a young age and was introduced to the sport on a school field trip to Bannon’s Gymnastix at the age of six. While she trains close to 35 hours per week, Biles knows how to keep things fun and is known for inventing new skills during training.”

Now in its 24th season, “Dancing with the Stars” is hosted by Tom Bergeron and sports broadcaster Erin Andrews. The judging panel is composed of ballroom experts Len Goodman, Carrie Ann Inaba, Julianne Hough and Bruno Tonioli. Their scores, along with America’s votes, determine who gets to stay and who is sent home each week as couples vie for the coveted Mirrorball trophy.

The remaining contestants include Normani Kordei with Val Chmerkovskiy, David Ross with Lindsay Arnold and Rashad Jennings with Emma Slater.

The two-night “Dancing with the Stars” finale airs next Monday and Tuesday nights at 8 p.m. and 8:30 p.m., respectively, on ABC.
