Was James Franco In A SNL Skit Depicting Sexual Harassment Standards In The Workplace?

Did James Franco participate in a Saturday Night Live skit about sexual harassment in the workplace? Yes. In a bit of irony, the actor currently being accused of sexual misconduct by five women, played a corporate employee alongside Kenan Thompson apologizing to their co-workers before being fired.

Sarah Tither-Kaplan, a former acting student at the film school Franco founded, is one of five women who accused Franco, 39, of behavior they found to be inappropriate or sexually exploitative. Four were his students, and another said he was her mentor, according to the LA Times.

In the skit, Franco’s character was a executive being accused of sexually harassing several female co-workers. Meanwhile, Thompson was a security guard who had also lewdly propositioned women. In the end, Thompson received a pass from the women but was still fired for other craziers reasons.

The video which has 2,467,046 views has received added attention with the recent allegations against Franco. Some comments left on the video from YouTube users include the following:

K de la Cruz, “Just like everyone else – HOW IRONIC!! Maybe the writers knew something and thought it would be funny to write this while James Franco was hosting that week.”

Chocolate ThunderBear, “Who else is here for the awkward irony?”

james Harmon, “SNL has had to know what a pervert James Franco was. It was a well know fact that he kept texting a 17 yo trying to kid her to go to his hotel room. Her mother had the texts and went to the police. SNL could care less though.”

Franco has denied the claims on Tuesday on CBS’s “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert. Franco then addressed the same issue Wednesday on NBC’s “Late Night With Seth Meyers.”

The night of the 2018 Golden Globes when Franco won Best Actor for “The Disaster Artist,” actress Violet Paley tweeted: “Cute #TIMESUP pin James Franco. Remember the time you pushed my head down in a car towards your exposed penis & that other time you told my friend to come to your hotel when she was 17? After you had already been caught doing that to a different 17 year old?”

Franco recently won in the Best Actor category for his role in The Disaster Artist at the Critics’ Choice Awards but he was not there to accept the award. The Freaks and Geeks alum skipped the star-studded event amid the ongoing sexual misconduct allegations made against him. However, his sister-in-law Alison Brie, married to Dave Franco, was in attendance.

What did you think of the irony that Franco appeared in a SNL skit about sexual harassment only to be accused of that actual conduct? Do you believe the allegations against Franco or do you think there needs to be more evidence? Let us know in the comments section.
