A special girl with a lot of talent is hoping to meet Ed Sheeran with the help of others and her powerful voice. Ashleigh Fagan is an 18-year-old from Dublin, Ireland. She is also autistic, partially blind, but above all that she is a talented musician who shows that talent on Facebook with many videos.
For some of these performances, she will use instruments that she learned to play by ear. And her music is bringing smiles to people everywhere. Her mother created a Facebook page that features videos of Ashleigh singing. The Facebook page has gained over 15,000 followers in the two years it has existed.
For one of her videos, Ashleigh sang one of her favorite songs from Sheeran. She hopes that she will get the opportunity to meet him one day. The video has over 300,000 views so far on Facebook with many positive comments in support. Check it out and help Ashleigh out by reaching out to Sheeran about the request.
A little about this special child. She is the second-oldest out of six kids and diagnosed with autism at age 12. However, that has not stopped her from enjoying what makes her happy. Ashleigh has found that music has had “a transformative effect” on her, according to the budding star’s mother.
Ashleigh said, “It makes me feel really happy. It’s really nice as well that my music makes people feel good. It takes me a few weeks to learn a song so I just sing it again and again.”
Ashleigh can play music by ear on the guitar, harp, and tin whistle. In order to learn to play the songs, she will listen to them several times over and then work out the notes on her instruments. She dreams of meeting and singing with Sheeran someday. Her Facebook page is dedicated to that endeavor.
